– I had a lot to talk about this week but things don’t always work out as planned. After Anthony and Isobel took turns being sick (I felt like I have been caring for a sickie for about two months now once I factor in the bronchitis an the gastroenteritis) it was my turn. Unexpectedly I didn’t get bronchitis or gastroenteritis. I didn’t catch what they had, I had to go and get something new. Due to a structural defect in my kidney I am susceptible to bladder infections, and I no matter how careful I am I get one about once a year. I am so ready for everyone to be healed and well again. Right now I feel preeeetty awful.
– It is so hot. Grossly hot. I went to a dinner party recently with some friends from San Francisco and they were talking about how they enjoyed taking a walk and even just sitting outside during their visit. I thought they were being sarcastic until I realized that July can be frigid in SF. The blistering heat of the valley is welcome. They also operated under the false pretense that our winter is balmy. Not so. Even though last winter was eerily warm it was the exception that proves the rule. We typically get lots of hard freezes and deep Tule fog. There are so many blanket misconceptions about California, especially the Valley.
– Being sick is boring and dumb.
