–Thank you for everyone who wished me luck with my butt on twitter before my colonoscopy. It made me smile and feel a bit better for the moment and all the nurses cracked up when I mentioned it to them. I am sure they thought that was the drugs talking but JOKE’S ON THEM I talk about my butt on the internet ALL THE TIME. I got some of my colonoscopy results back and I’m sad to say that so far it doesn’t look like my butt is haunted. We’ll have to wait for the biopsies to know for sure.
–I jokingly posted that I should write a blog post called Tips for Colonoscopies and I received such a favorable response that I think I’ll actually just do it. I also lost about ten followers on twitter imminently after. Those poor delicate souls probably died, which leaves me with a hardy group of followers ready to read about their colon.
–Steroids has made my appetite constantly long for fried eggs. Fried eggs are my new favorite condiment. They go on everything. “Put a fried egg on it” is the “put a bird on it” of food. A friend of mine on twitter suggested this is probably my body’s desperate cry for protein and iron, and I bet she is not wrong. I have been enjoying my steroid-fueled appetite immensely and cooking up a storm, particularly indulging my love of fruits and vegetables. They can be a painful challenge for me to digest normally, so while my digestion is pumped up I’m gorging myself on greens and tropical fruits and whole grains. Also chocolate, girl scout cookies, the aforementioned eggs, and goat cheese. Oh, man, how I love goat’s cheese.
–Rose season has just started, and if you follow me on Instagram you’ve seen me post rose after rose from my garden. I love them so much, and I feel very lucky to have inherited such lovely bushes with this house. Each one is unique and crazy and beautiful and special, unfolding in their own way. I’m sitting on my hands excited for poppy season (will it ever get here?!), but for now, rose season is making me so happy.
–Ever since Isobel has brought some of the Pokemon toys I’ve made her to school for sharing, I’ve had kids from her class come up to me and ask me to make them toys, too. Isobel’s birthday is coming up, and I’m attempting to make something for the kids in her class that will hopefully satisfy this desire.
–Elias isn’t napping regularly anymore and it’s the worst. The more exhausted he gets, the naughtier he gets (case in point), and sometimes he is such a little turd he drives me insane. The other day he was just making me nuts, when he suddenly stopped, kissed me right on the lips, and said, “Awwwwww!” Nature knew what she was doing when she made the naughtiest children the cutest children. Then the other day, apropos of nothing, Elias walked right up to me, “booped” me on the nose, and then walked away.
–The Snow was amazing and wonderful. We had the best time. The kids had the best time. It will go down as one of the best family trips ever.

Turlock Certified Farmer’s Market Withdraws Application. Our small town has had its share of corruption and local fuckery lately. I’m going to miss the wonderful local farmer’s market as I boycott anything having to do with Cipponeri’s. I’ll see you at Resendiz, the Strawberry market on Monte Vista, or in Modesto’s farmer’s market on Saturday, when I’m up to it.
How to make everything you’ve ever wanted from a Miyazaki film. Totoro sparked Isobel’s love of bentos. We should make these together.
