–Last week, after some slow but steady health decline, things got worse pretty rapidly and I ended up in an emergency appointment with my GI specialist. So, here, I am, on steroids again. I’ve been pretty upset about it even though without the steroids I certainly wouldn’t be sitting here writing this post. There are a couple things that could be causing the rapid decline, one or the other or a combination of the two, so I’m heading in for some more invasive tests and procedures, including another colonoscopy next Monday. In the meantime I’ve been put on another round of steroids to prop me up and keep me out of the hospital until then. Things have been really bad over here, I don’t want to cover up that fact, but ultimately I’m in good hands. I trust my GI doctor more than I’ve trusted any other doctor, and Anthony and our families have rallied to step in with the kids. Stef reminded me how bad steroids can be for depression and anxiety which has helped explain the crying jags that have consumed me. It’s been rough, physically and mentally.

There’s a text version of the suicide hotline. I am so glad this exists! Hopefully none of us will ever need it, but I am so glad it is there. Many people suffer from phone call anxiety. Help is only a text message away.
