–After over three weeks of being sick, I finally broke down and saw the doctor. I have pretty severe bronchitis, brought on by the family cold and my immunosuppressant injections for Crohn’s disease, which is why it hit me the hardest and staying around the longest. He ordered me to rest before it turned into pneumonia and gave me a Rx for cough syrup and prednisone. I’ve been resting (as well as I can), and can’t wait to put this behind me.
–Elias has learned to say “OH NOOOO!” very dramatically when things go wrong. It’s very dramatic and wonderful.
–Last week I officially turned 36 after I celebrated my oldness with Stefanie, whose birthday is right after mine. It isn’t official until we get together with friends and celebrate. It was laid back because we were both even sicker than usual (we are sisters in illness as well as birthdays), and we stayed up late, ate BO & Mush, and played games. Although it technically didn’t count as resting, I did go thrifting with some friends on her birthday. It was all so worth it. I even found a sweet squid hat, which, on second thought, I should have bought and bought two of them (they had a bunch) so Ellen and I could live out our No Noggin Halloween costume fantasies. If you haven’t seen Curious George: A Halloween Boo Fest, it’s worth watching just for the awesome costumes alone.
–It could be the prednisone talking, but I have decided for the month of November I’m going to post here on Little Big every day. I need a kick in the pants, and after realizing that NaNoWriMo is out of my reach right now, I could at least attempt NaBloPoMo like a MoFo. I’ve been struggling with posting regularity, and although some of it has been due to my ill health, I know some of it is because I’m overthinking posts and waiting until things are “perfect” to post. It’s resulted in very few posts going up and frustrating me to no end. I’m hoping this exercise will help me loosen up and get back into the groove. I posted daily for years, no problem. I’d like to get back to at least five posts a week. Many of these posts will likely be short and sweet but I have lots of ideas and excitement.
–Elias is now Boy Wonderful, as he is Robin, the Boy Wonder for Halloween.
Snapshot 10.21.15. Things I’ve seen Elias attempt to tickle include dogs, cats, our stone gnome, and the TV.

Confession: I’m glad they changed the art in the Scary Stories books. I’m torn. It absolutely isn’t for kids. But that was what drew myself and everyone else I knew to read it. The art is amazing and disturbing and terrible and wonderful.
This account of a night of terror in an unusually disgusting haunted house is straight-up hilarious. This would be me if I ever went to one of these, which I totally wouldn’t. The part about her hugging one of the actors who was supposed to scare her killed me.
Last night’s episode of Jeopardy! made a hot and confused man named Tom a star. My parents are hard of hearing. I have a feeling that would be their answer to each question on Jeopardy!
SCIENCE! Louder monkeys have smaller balls. I’m just going to leave that right there.
Is…is that person stirring….their coffee with…a hot dog? Truly, the greatest generation.
Snapshot 02.29.12. I’m sure this photo of a baby on a treadmill has nothing to do with it.
