Last month we took our yearly pilgrimage to the county fair with the Waltons in order to indulge our love of fried food, pet some farm animals, and take photos of our kids on top of the toadstools. The three most amazing things I saw at the fair this year included a Pigacorn, a baby duck with an afro-like fluff on the top of its head, and a portrait of Ferdinand Magellan made of beans.
Isobel made it her mission to hug every goat in the petting zoo. Kingston expressed his disgust for chickens. Isobel shoved both fingers up her nose to save herself from smelling the “too stinky” animals. The Waltons bought a bunny. Kingston and Isobel held hands and schemed about which ride to try next. Anthony and Justin took the kids on the roller coaster a dozen times. Angela let a goat make out with her arm. I ate chocolate-covered bacon on a stick. It was a great day.
