I had a post all ready to go but I just had to reschedule at the last minute and share this video. Part of my philosophy in life, and the namesake of this blog, was to find and take pleasure in the little things in life. The little things that, as Kurt Vonnegut once famously said, were really big things. I wanted to take notice and appreciate them amid the craziness that is everyday life and motherhood. The pure joy I see in this couple as they dance is exactly what I’m striving for on a daily basis and what I want to share with you today.
We first spotted this dancing couple when we went to the fair last Saturday. That time they were dancing to disco, pop and soul tunes. We went again last night with my parents and they were at it again, this time shimmying to big band and swing. When I think about all the things this couple experienced in their life, all the births, deaths, fads, political upheavals, wars, economic ups and downs… they went through it all. Maybe they danced through it all. And here they are. Still dancing.
Dancing old people are my FAVORITE!!! Awww.

Everyone was clapping and cheering and whistling for them. It was a wonderful thing to see!
