Thrift Store Score: Pirate Ship

We have been having so much fun with this Little People Lil Pirate Ship that I found while thrifting earlier in the week. Even though we don’t own any Little People we quickly solved this problem by adding Care Bears. I like it better this way. We added a vintage blue sheet for the ocean, a pillow for an island, a treasure chest and her bath tub whales for effect.

Isobel is all about pirates and the ocean because she’s recently discovered the Little Mermaid and it’s her favorite thing ever. She’s just like Mama–she loves her some mermaids.

Squirrelly also thinks this is a great toy. The line between cat toys and kid toys and kid toys and cat toys is a fine and blurry one.

    Squirrely is getting SO BIG.

    So big, in fact, that he appears to have taken down an ocean whale with relative ease.

    That fine line reminds me of this picture I posted of our cat with one of his favorite toys. It’s a stuffed fish on a pole (my mom us the first one). When my friend Rosa saw it online she asked me if it was a fish and then how her son saw it one at the store and begged for it. She had to explain it a pet toy, lol. Between you and I, I bought one for him, but I haven’t sent it yet, so shhhhhh.

    This is all too cute. Reminds me of the Carebears Movies..which I’ve recently watched…as an adult. What? They’re absolutely hilarious! So much unintentional comedy in ‘em ;)

      Isobel is a HUGE fan of the Big Wish movie, which means I have much of it memorized, and she’s asked to watch the old ones a first time and they were so bad they nearly gave me a brain aneurysm.

      The best thing that could have happened is me finding that ship without inhabitants to the marriage of Care Bears and Pirate Ship could occur.
