Scrapbook: The Fourth of July

9 Jul

Last year we totally missed out on the Fourth of July. Isobel and I were sick and so the various plans we had made were dumped in favor of coloring, playing Assassin’s Creed, and not wearing pants. Not a bad way to spend a hot afternoon, but still. It lacked family and friends. This year Isobel spent the day swimming with cousins and then heading over to my Aunt’s house in the country.

My favorite memories from this year include Isobel and Victoria showing me their ballet moves (scroll down to see, it’s hilarious), my cousin TJ nearly passing out from pushing the kids around on their toys, and Isobel burying her face in my lap when the fireworks reached ear-piercing decibels. She fell asleep the instant we loaded her into the car and ended up sleeping on Dave and Stef’s couch for a few hours while we visited with friends back in town.

I hope everyone had a fun, safe Independence Day and still has the same number of appendages.
