Our friends John & Laurel gave Isobel this adorable red wagon for her birthday, and since it was ordered online it arrived the weekend we got our new carpet. Isobel sent most of Sunday filling it with things and toting it around the house.
In fact, she’s in her pajamas in this picture because upon waking she insisted Anthony put it together for her so she could play with it. Then, with Anthony and I consumed with the task of unboxing and putting things away she somehow got ahold of our wallets and emptied the contents into the wagon. (I’m still trying to find out where she put my library card. I know it’s around here somewhere.)
I’m really sort of embarrassed to say this but I do not normally have wads of cash in my purse. Or any cash, period. I had just gone to Target the day before and returned a duvet that I purchased in the wrong size. We are almost-exclusively debit shoppers, and when Christmas rolls around I make sure to raid our taco truck change jar before we leave the house so I have something to put in the Salvation Army buckets.
All of this is to say it sort of looks like we are Mr & Mrs Moneybags in this photo, with Isobel as our Li’l Miss Moneybags Jr With Her Wagon Full of Cash, but I assure you that’s not the case. I had just happened to get a sizeable refund from Target because, for whatever reason, duvet covers are at least $50 more expensive than they should be, even if you shop at a discountish store like Tarjay. If anyone would like to chime in and explain why the holy hell they cost so much I’d appreciate it.
Carting things around is her second favorite thing to do with this wagon. Trying to fit herself into it, of course, is number one.
