It’s my sister’s birthday today. Happy Birthday, Sis! She’s an old lady now, but I’m not going to tell you how old. Mostly because I am old and it’s hard for me to remember. I would look it up but I’m right in the middle of Matlock.
Here are photos of us back in the Olden Days. My sister is the one with the cabbage leaf on her head. She looks adorably toothless. I look like a blond Isobel.
My sister lived with us for a year and a half. She sure came in handy with the baby. I remember talking to my Bestie about how hard having an infant can be since they are attached to you at all times. It really helped that I could pass the baby off to her Auntie when I needed to!
My sister is now married to a great guy and living in Hawai’i. That’s right. She’s in paradise. My sister married a career military man and right now he’s stationed on the Big Island so she’s having all sorts of adventures involving pineapples and sea turtles and coconut bras.
In order to keep in touch we’ve decided to send each other a photo a day via text message. Something that we could do quickly that would still keep us connected. She misses Isobel dearly and this way she can still see her practically every day.
This is within walking distance of my sister:
She wasn’t on the Island very long before she rescued a dog they named Sky and a pregnant cat named Ruby:
I look forward to my sister photo everyday. We are so lucky that we can connect through technology. Otherwise, how would I know that Sky sleeps in this position every night?
Happy Birthday, Sis!
